Football section
The Radeberger SV was founded in 1946 as a loose sports group under the name SG Radeberg . As early as 1947/48, the SGR took part in the championship of the State League Saxony District Dresden, at that time the highest division of the SBZ along with other state leagues in Saxony . Against large clubs like SG Dresden-Friedrichstadt , the Radebergers had no chance in the season and took last place.
From 1948, the SG completed a transformation into a company sports community . The BSG appeared with various sponsoring companies until 1990 as Sachsenwerk Radeberg , Motor Radeberg , Rafena Radeberg and Robotron Radeberg . In 1953, Motor Radeberg was promoted to the third-class Dresden district league , which was held with brief interruptions until 1981. In 1960, the Radeberger narrowly missed the possible promotion to the 2nd GDR League with the runner-up in the Dresden district behind Chemie Riesa .
In 1990 the company was renamed Radeberger SV . The RSV rose again in 1990 in the district league, but could not qualify for the Landesliga Sachsen. The current division is the 8th league, the Dresden City Superior League .
