Career

In the club

In 2007, the attacking midfielder Kegel made the jump from the A-Jugend to the first team at Dynamo Dresden . At the same time, he completed an apprenticeship as a painter and varnisher . Kegel played a total of 72 third division games for the Saxon capital club between 2008 and 2011 , scoring seven goals. In the 2010/11 season he rose to the 2nd Bundesliga with Dynamo Dresden . After the promotion he was only used sporadically under coach Ralf Loose , which is why he did not extend his contract , which expired at the end of the 2011/12 season. Instead, Kegel signed a two-year contract with Saxon rivals Chemnitzer FC in the 3rd division on April 12, 2012 .

For the 2014/15 season , Kegel moved to league rivals Holstein Kiel on a free transfer .

For the 2016/17 season he moved to third division club SC Fortuna Köln . For almost three years, only interrupted by injuries, he was largely responsible for the success of his team as a playmaker until March 15, 2019, when another cruciate ligament rupture in the game against KFC Uerdingen interrupted his career. He had to watch the relegation of SC Fortuna Köln to the regional league at the end of the 2018/19 season from the stands. His contract ended on June 30, 2019. Since mid-November 2019, he has been training again with the first team of SC Fortuna Köln in order to reach his old fitness level. A new player contract was signed in Cologne on March 5, 2020.
