Mike Owusu (born May 20, 1995 in Berlin , Germany ) is a German soccer player . He has been under contract with SC Fortuna Köln since summer 2019 .

Career

Mike Owusu was trained in his hometown of Berlin from U-17 at Hertha BSC . He was preferred as a hanging tip or in the attacking midfield and was used in the last three seasons for the Bundesliga reserve in the Regionalliga Nordost. He also trained regularly with the professionals. In the 2016/17 season, the strong German-Ghanaian played 22 times for Hertha II, scored five goals himself and prepared three more.

In the 2017/18 season Owusu moved to FC Hansa Rostock in the 3rd division and signed a contract until summer 2018 with the option of another season. He made his debut for Hansa on matchday 1 in the away game against Sportfreunde Lotte (2-0). Owusu received a total of 15 third division appearances from Hansa coach Pavel Dotchev , one in the DFB Cup against Bundesliga club Hertha BSC (0: 2) and another five in the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania regional cup . He won the same in the final against FC Mecklenburg Schwerin (2-1). The Hansa Rostock Association informed Owusu early on that his employment relationship in Rostock would not be extended.

Owusu moved to third division club SG Sonnenhof Großaspach in summer 2018 . He signed a contract for a year plus an option for another season, which the club did not draw in spring 2019.

He has been playing in the Regionalliga West at SC Fortuna Köln since the 2019/20 season .
