BSG Stahl Kirchmöser

The BSG Stahl Kirchmöser was a company sports community in the Kirchmöser district of the city of Brandenburg an der Havel . Sections of the BSG were, for example, handball and sailing . The BSG Stahl Kirchmöser played in a team with the BSG Stahl Brandenburg in the 1980s for several seasons in the first-class handball league of the GDR .

As early as the 1970s, the handball sections of the sister BSG of Stahl Kirchmöser and Stahl Brandenburg formed a permanent gaming community. At all times, the three-time cup winner BSG Chemie Premnitz was the best handball club in the Potsdam district . In 1972/73, the SG played for the first time in the GDR league, the second highest division. First of all, they managed to stay up in the North season. They reached eighth place in the table. In the following season, however, they finished last and rose again to the third-rate district league. 1978 they managed to get promoted again and managed to establish themselves in the sequence in the second highest division. Partly one achieved demanding placements. After eight seasons in the GDR league, the SG came in the 1985/86 season on the 2nd place in the table, and thus rose for the first time in the handball GDR Oberliga, the top division. The first league season 1986/87 was not very successful. After only one season, the relegation followed, after they came with three wins and two draws to ninth place in the ten league. After the immediate resurgence, the syndicate managed to assert itself in the league, which was enlarged to twelve teams in 1988. In the season 1988/89 they came with five wins and two draws on the tenth, in the following season 1989/90 on the ninth place in the table. In 1990 the team moved to the newly founded association BSV Stahl Brandenburg . The Stahl Brandenburg / Kirchmöser team played their home games in the steel hall .
