The BSV Hürtürkel is a German football club from Berlin - Neukölln . In the 2012/13 season, the men's team won the Berlin city championship for the first time in the sixth class Berlin League, which was linked to promotion to the fifth class Oberliga Nordost . In 2004 the merger club was awarded the Sepp Herberger Prize by the Berlin Football Association (BFV) for its outstanding youth work . The club plays its home games on Jahnsportplatz on Columbiadamm in Berlin-Neukölln.

history

The BSV Hürtürkel was created in June 1999 from the merger of the two Berlin clubs BSV Hürtürk (in the BFV game operations since 1989) and BSV Türkel (part of the failed Lichtenberger SV Türkel merger project until 1997). The club initially played in the Berlin district league A, where both partners had gained experience in previous years. Immediately he was promoted to the district league. After three years of membership in the regional league, he was promoted to the regional league for the first time in the summer of 2003. The fusion club also stayed there for three years before relegating in the end of the season in 2006 and playing in the district league again from then on. In 2008 the state league was promoted again.

The club finally established itself in the class and rose at the end of the 2011/12 season as runner-up behind TuS Makkabi Berlin for the first time in the sixth class Berlin league . The club caused a sensation in the direct duel against the eventual champions after anti-Semitic statements against players and officials of the opponent, which were punished with the deduction of three points and several long bans.

As a newcomer in the Berlin League, the club immediately celebrated the championship and reached the fifth-class Oberliga Nordost . A curiosity this season was the 16: 1 win against fellow promoted Club Italia , in which the team helped their striker Safa Sentürk to 16 goals and thus a preliminary decision in the fight for the top scorer's crown, the Sentürk with 37 goals, eleven more than the team Runner-up, won.

Since the 2013/14 season , Hürtürkel has played its home games on Hertzbergplatz on Sonnenallee , as the traditional Jahnsportplatz on Columbiadamm is not suitable for the upper league.
