The Babbage River is a 185 km long river in Yukon ( Canada ).

The river has its source in the British Mountains , the Canadian part of the Brooks Range , at an altitude of about 950  m . It initially flows 20 km south from the mountains. Then the Babbage River flows 20 km along the southern flank of the mountain range in an easterly direction before turning to the northeast. The Babbage River forms the southeastern and later the northeastern demarcation of the Ivvavik National Park . Over the last 60 km it turns north and forms numerous river loops and oxbow lakes . 20 km above the mouth, the two larger rivers Trail River and Tulugaq River meet the Babbage River from the left. This finally flows south of the headland of Kay Point , 40 km southeast of Herschel Island , into the Beaufort Sea . The Babbage River thus belongs to the catchment area of the Arctic Ocean . The Babbage River drains an area of about 4750 km².

At river kilometer 100, below the confluence of the Caribou Creek, recorded 1978-1994 a level on the discharge of the Babbage River. The catchment area at the point is 1500 km². The measured mean discharge was 11.3 m³ / s.
