Anna Barbara von Belderbusch , née Koch (born June 28, 1771 in Bonn ; † November 25, 1807 ibid) was a childhood friend of Ludwig van Beethoven and the wife of Anton Maria Karl von Belderbusch .

Life

Anna Barbara Koch, called Babette, came from the host family of the Gasthaus Zehrgarten on the market square in Bonn , which also owned a small bookshop. Many of the guests were students from Bonn University and members of the Bonn Reading Society , including Ludwig van Beethoven, with whom she was on friendly terms. Babette Koch married Count Anton Maria Karl von Belderbusch on June 9, 1802 and lived with him at Miel Castle . She died in 1807 giving birth to her fourth child.

Honors

In Bonn, the Babette-Koch-Weg is named after her; it is behind the Max Planck Institute for Radio Astronomy.
