history

Babing was an independent municipality since the Bavarian municipal edict of 1818. On January 1, 1972, the Babing community with the villages of Baueröd, Eberlsöd, Eggersgrub, Eichten, Erlach, Futteröd, Giglberg, Haid, Hinteröd, Irreck, Lahn, Nehaid, Oberbabing, Putzenberg, Rimberg, Schlegelsreit, Schöllamühle, Spindlhäusl, Spitzlbach, Stietenöd, Vils, Walding and Willgrub are incorporated into the market town of Velden (Vils) .
