Bach Consort Vienna

Bach Consort Vienna is an Austrian baroque ensemble founded by Rubén Dubrovsky in 1999.

In accordance with its chamber music orientation, the motto "as small as it makes sense" applies to the cast. In keeping with the claim of its name, the ensemble primarily deals with the work of Johann Sebastian Bach , including the research of the director on the relationship between traditional Latin American music and European baroque music. The ensemble is also dedicated to the rediscovery of works by important baroque composers. In 2010, the Bach Consort Vienna performed Johann Josef Fux 's oratorio Christo nell orto as part of the Osterklang festivals in Vienna and at the Grazer Osterfestival Psalm , as well as Easter music by the Viennese court composer Francesco Bartolomeo Conti with the countertenor Franco Fagioli .

As guests of the ensemble u. a. Bernarda Fink , Emma Kirkby and Christophe Coin . The Bach Consort Vienna played a. a. in the Wiener Musikverein , in Esterházy Palace in Eisenstadt, in the Brucknerhaus in Linz, in Schwetzingen , at the Handel Festival in Halle, at the Musikkollegium Winterthur , in Ancona, Zagreb, Santiago de Compostela and in the Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona.
