Bachelor of Theology

The Bachelor of Theology (B.Th. or BTh) is one of the first academic degrees in a theology degree . The standard period of study at European universities is six semesters .

In Germany, due to the structural requirements of the Conference of Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs, the Bachelor of Arts is the degree in Protestant or Catholic theology . Due to these requirements, the Bachelor of Theology degree can only be awarded in a further education course. To the B.Th. can usually be followed by a Master of Theology . Depending on the qualification and the courses taken, a Master of Arts can also be attached to state universities . Minimum qualifications for a theological Master of Arts are, for example, the ecclesiastical or state Hebraicum , the university Hebraicum is usually not sufficient.
