Reformed Episcopal Church
The Reformed Episcopal Church is an Anglican Church that has separated from the Anglican Communion . Since 2009 she has been part of the Anglican Church in North America .
It was founded on December 2, 1873 by Bishop George David Cummins and other former pastors of the Episcopal Church of the United States of America , because of the fear of a loss of Protestantism due to the growing acceptance of the Oxford movement in parts of the Episcopal Church and the Church of England . Theologically the church is committed to the English Reformation , the 39 Articles of Faith of the English Church and uses its own Book of Common Prayer as the order of worship , which is based on the Book of Common Prayer of 1662 of the Church of England. Closely related to the conservative wing within the Anglican Community, the Reformed Episcopal Church has a concordat with the Iglesia Anglicana del Cono Sur de América and an agreement on church fellowship with the Church of Nigeria , which, however, does not apply to other member churches of the Anglican Community. The current Presiding Bishop of the Church is Royal U. Grote .
