The backmount or rear mount is one of the basic positions of submission wrestling (see also Grappling , Luta Livre , BJJ ).

Here the fighter is on the back of the opponent and has his legs in front of his body. The backmount is a very dominant position as you are out of the effective range of the opposing arms. The backmount offers a wide range of options for levering and choking.
