The Bad Driburg Nature Park GmbH & Co.KG is a medium-sized German companies in the mineral water - and drink from Bad Driburg , Höxter district in North Rhine-Westphalia . Bad Driburger belongs to the Graf von Oeynhausen-Sierstorpff group of companies .

history

The Driburg sources were first mapped in 1620. In 1647, Matthäus Merian's Topographia Westfaliae mentioned two healing and good wells. Bernardus Wilhelmus Rödder, personal physician of Prince-Bishop Clemens August , Duke of Bavaria , wrote the “Thorough description of the health and steel fountain located in Driburg in the Paderborn bishopric” from 1757 .

Marketing on a larger scale did not begin until after the end of the Thirty Years' War . Around 1665 the sources were compiled on the orders of the Paderborn prince-bishop Ferdinand , who had also dedicated a poem to them. The transport of mineral water bottles around 1720 is shown on a leather wallpaper in Vinsebeck Castle . At that time, the water was already being sent to London, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Gdansk, Amsterdam, Hamburg, Hanover, Kassel and other cities. In 1781 the Braunschweig master hunter, Baron Caspar Heinrich von Sierstorpff , got to know the sources on a trip. In 1781 he bought the well area and began to expand the spa facilities by gradually buying the entire area around the springs together, draining it and providing it with paths. The lodging house, today's Sierstorpff house, and the poor house, in which the administration is located today, were built between 1783 and 1786. A second bath and lodging house followed from 1793/94, later the Hölderlin house. In 1803, Sierstorpff had a house built for himself that is still inhabited by his descendants.

After the end of the Napoleonic Wars , Sierstorpff was able to fall back on financial aid from Prussia and further expand the spa facilities. In 1820 he informed the Chancellor, Count Hardenberg , that the bathroom was so frequented that guests had to be turned away, and he built another lodging house, the later Vincke-Haus. A new foyer followed , designed by Peter Joseph Krahe . The historical substance of the facilities from the 18th and 19th centuries has been preserved.

The water from the Caspar Heinrich spring was particularly popular because it was both digestible and versatile. Users included Friedrich Hölderlin , Wilhelm Heinse , Susette Gontard , Annette von Droste-Hülshoff and Sophie von La Roche .

In 1919 Driburg was recognized as a bath; In 1932 an independent well company was founded. In 1979/80 a second bottling plant was set up at Caspar-Heinrich-Quelle, in which an average of 100,000 bottles are filled per day.
Furthermore 1980, a hole was to Bad Driburger mineral water at the mill Josef drilled and a 1990 pipeline to this source into operation. In 2004/05, after numerous other extensions, a new filling hall was added and the entire filling plant for PET and glass was rebuilt.
