description

The curved course of the alley was determined by the Kankerbach , which used to flow along its edge . The Bachschleife was straightened in 1900. The south-western part of Badgasse is listed as an ensemble. The area is mostly loosely built with former farm and tanner houses. The majority of the buildings are gable and almost all have flat gable roofs . After a conflagration in 1821, the street space had to be largely rebuilt. At the place of no. 12 there used to be the house "zum Sam" , whose owner operated a bathhouse . The name of the alley is derived from this building. The former farmhouse no. 7, “zum Peigerle” , is a characteristic Werdenfelser Mittertenn building and forms an effective urban access to Badgasse in the north. The group of the Beerweinhaus No. 14 with its rich ornamental gable and painting by Heinrich Bickel as well as the ancient former farm "beim Gerbermann" with the Werdenfelser Mittertenne are of particular importance .
