history

Badminton was first played in Australia in 1900 when a certain Mister Moore returned from a trip to England and brought eight badminton rackets with him. As a result, a Reverend Bryant preached the game in many places. In Victoria, the national association ABA (Australia Badminton Association) was founded with the active participation of R. Clendinnen and H. Wray, who was already successful as a tennis player, and was renamed Badminton Australia at the beginning of the new millennium. The Australia Badminton Association became a member shortly after the International Badminton Federation was founded there in September 1936.
