Badreddin al-Huthi

Badreddin al-Huthi ( Arabic بدر الدين الحوثي, DMG Badr ad-Dīn al-Ḥūṯī ; * September 3, 1926 in Dahyan , Sa'da Governorate ; † November 25, 2010 ), also Badr al-Din al-Houthi , was a Yemeni politician and scholar of Zaidite Islam . He is one of the founders of the al-Haqq ( Truth ) party and was one of the spiritual leaders of the Ansar Allah ( Helpers of God ) movement, later known as the Houthis. He is the father of eight children, including Abdul-Malik al-Huthi and Hussein Badreddin al-Huthi . After Hussein's death in 2004, he briefly took over the leadership of the Houthi movement in the Houthi conflict .

In 2010, he died at the age of 86 from complications related to asthma .
