The Bagley Icefield (sometimes also Bagley Ice Valley ) in Alaska extends in the core area of the Saint Elias Mountains and parts of the Chugach Mountains and is the largest contiguous glacier ice field outside of the polar regions.
It feeds several dozen glaciers and covers a total area of around 5200 km².
It was named after James W. Bagley, a USGS - topographer , the Bagley-T-3 camera developed and Alaska before the First World War mapped.
The ice field is located in the reserve of the Wrangell-St.-Elias National Park .
