The Carregado train station ( Portuguese Estação Ferroviária do Carregado ) is the train station in the Portuguese town of Carregado , located on the Linha do Norte .

history

The station opened on October 28, 1856 and was the northern terminus of the first railway line in Portugal. In 1926, the Portuguese state railway CP, together with the Emprêsa de Transportes entre Carregado e Alemquer, started a transport service for passengers, luggage and freight between Carregado and the district town of Alenquer . In the years 1930/31 a new reception building in Art Deco style was built, which was opened on November 29, 1931.

Today the station is served every half hour by trains of the Linha de Azambuja between Azambuja and Lisbon Alcântara-Terra .
