Zachary T. "Zack" Space (born January 27, 1961 in Dover , Ohio ) is an American politician of the Democratic Party . January 3, 2007 to January 3, 2011, he was a member of the House of Representatives of the United States for the 18th  congressional district of the state of Ohio.

biography

Space was born in Dover. He studied at Kenyon College and Ohio State University Jura . In 1986 he opened a law firm with his father. He served as a consultant to Attorney Generals Anthony J. Celebrezze and Lee Fisher .

In the 2006 congressional elections , he was elected to the US House of Representatives as the successor to the resigned Robert Ney . He was able to defend his seat in 2008 . In 2010 , however, he lost his seat to Bob Gibbs . Most recently, Space was a member of the Energy and Trade Committee . He was also a member of the Blue Dog Coalition .

Space lives in Dover, is married and a father of two. He is of the Greek Orthodox faith .
