John J. Whitacre (1913)

John Jefferson Whitacre (* 28. December 1860 in Decatur , Burt County , Nebraska , † 2. December 1938 in Miami , Florida ) was an American politician of the Democratic Party . March 4, 1911 to March 3, 1915, he was a member of the House of Representatives of the United States for the 18th  congressional district of the state of Ohio .

biography

Whitacre was born in Decatur. There he attended school. He later studied at the University of Michigan . From then on he worked as an entrepreneur. In 1912 he was a delegate to the Democratic National Convention . He ran for a seat in the US House of Representatives for the first time in 1908.

In 1910 his candidacy was successful. From then on, he represented the 18th District of Ohio. In 1915 he left the Congress. From then on he worked as an entrepreneur again.

He died in Miami in 1938, where he spent the last years of his life. He was buried in Magnolia Cemetery in Magnolia .
