Henry R. Brinkerhoff

Henry Roelif Brinkerhoff (born September 23, 1787 in Adams County , Pennsylvania , † April 30, 1844 in Huron County , Ohio ) was an American politician of the Democratic Party . From 1843 to 1844 he was a member of the House of Representatives of the United States for 21  congressional districts of the State of Ohio.

Henry R. Brinkerhoff was a cousin of Congressman Jacob Brinkerhoff (1810-1880). He was born in Adams County, Pennsylvania. In 1793 he moved with his parents to Cayuga County , New York State . There he attended public schools. In the Civil War he commanded a militia . He then worked as a farmer . In 1828 and 1829 he was a member of the New York State Assembly . In 1837 he moved to Huron County.

In the congressional elections in 1842 , Brinkerhoff was elected to the US House of Representatives as a representative of the newly created 21st District of Ohio. Until his death in 1844 he represented the 21st district.

Brinkerhoff was buried in the Pioneer Cemetery in Plymouth .
