Ezra Dean

Ezra Dean (born April 9, 1795 in Hillsdale , Columbia County , New York , † January 25, 1872 in Ironton , Ohio ) was an American politician of the Democratic Party . March 4, 1841 to March 3, 1845, he was a member of the House of Representatives of the United States for the 18th  congressional district of the state of Ohio.

biography

Dean was born in Hillsdale. There he attended schools. He served in the British-American War . After the end of the war he studied law . In 1823 he was admitted to the bar. In 1824 he moved to Ohio. Between 1834 and 1841 he served as a judge for the State of Ohio.

Dean was first elected to the US House of Representatives in 1840. In 1842 he was re-elected, in 1844 he was no longer nominated by his party. Until his death in 1872 he worked again as a lawyer in Ironton. He was buried in Woodland Cemetery .
