Edward Wade (born November 22, 1802 in West Springfield , Hampden County , Massachusetts , † August 13, 1866 in East Cleveland , Ohio ) was an American politician of the Free Soil Party and the Republican Party . March 4, 1853 to March 3, 1861 he was a member of the House of Representatives of the United States for the 19th  congressional district of the state of Ohio.

biography

Wade was born in West Springfield. In 1821 he moved to Ohio, where he Jura studied. In 1827 he was admitted to the bar. He then worked in his Jefferson law firm . In 1833 he was a prosecutor in Ashtabula County . In 1837 he moved to Cleveland .

As a candidate for the Free Soil Party, Wade was elected to the US House of Representatives in 1853. He was re-elected three times, but always as a candidate for the Republican Party. During his tenure as a member of Congress, he represented the 19th District of Ohio. In 1860 he was no longer nominated for election by his party.

In 1866, Wade died in East Cleveland. He was buried in Woodland Cemetery in Cleveland.
