Edward L. Taylor

Edward Livingston Taylor Jr. (born August 10, 1869 in Columbus , Ohio , †  March 10, 1938 there ) was an American politician . Between 1905 and 1913 he represented the state of Ohio in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Edward Taylor attended public schools in his home country and Columbus High School there . After completing a law degree and being admitted to the bar in 1891, he began to work in this profession in Columbus. Between 1899 and 1904 he was a prosecutor in Franklin County . At the same time he embarked on a political career as a member of the Republican Party .

In the congressional elections of 1904 Taylor was elected to the United States House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the twelfth constituency of Ohio , where he succeeded Democrat De Witt C. Badger on March 4, 1905 . After three re-elections, he was able to complete four legislative terms in Congress by March 3, 1913 . In 1912 he was not re-elected.

After his time in the US House of Representatives, Edward Taylor practiced as a lawyer again. He died on March 10, 1938 in Columbus, where he was also buried.
