Victor Heintz (* 20th November 1876 near Grayville , Edwards and White County , Illinois ; † 27. December 1968 in Cincinnati , Ohio ) was an American politician of the Republican Party and veteran of the First World War . From 1917 to 1919 he was a member of the House of Representatives of the United States for the second  congressional district of the state of Ohio.

biography

Victor Heinz was born on a farm near Grayville. After attending public schools Heintz studied at the University of Cincinnati law . In 1896 he finished his studies, in 1898 he was admitted to the bar and practiced from then on in Cincinnati. He served in the Ohio National Guard's cavalry and infantry for six years .

Heintz ran in the 1916 congressional election in Ohio's 2nd Congressional District to move into the US House of Representatives. He finally prevailed and succeeded Alfred G. Allen . In 1918 he was no longer standing for re-election. During his time in the House of Representatives, he moved to the First World War for his home country. He last served with the rank of captain in the 147th US Infantry Regiment. After he returned to his homeland from the war, he received a number of medals and honors. He received the Distinguished Service Cross , the Silver Star , the Purple Heart and the Croix de guerre . He worked as a lawyer until 1961, when he retired.

In 1968 Heintz died in Cincinnati. He was buried in Armstrong Chapel Cemetery, Cincinnati.
