Charles A. Mooney
Charles Anthony Mooney (born January 5, 1879 in St. Marys , Ohio , † May 29, 1931 in Cleveland , Ohio) was an American politician of the Democratic Party . March 4, 1919 to March 3, 1921 and March 4, 1923 until his death he was a member of the House of Representatives of the United States for the 20th congressional district of the state of Ohio.
biography
Charles Mooney was born in St. Marys to Michael J. Mooney and Catherine Salmon. There he first attended a Jesuit school. In 1895 he graduated from St. Marys High School from his school career. He then worked in the insurance business. In 1910 he moved to Cleveland where he continued his professional activity. From 1915 to 1919 he was a member of the State Senate .
In the 1918 congressional elections , Mooney was first elected to the US House of Representatives. There he served a term of office. He was replaced by the Republican Miner G. Norton . In 1922 he was able to regain his seat. From then on, he served as Congressman until his death .
Mooney was married to Miriam Isabelle MacMahon. They both had two sons. He was buried in Gethsemane Cemetery in his native city.
