Dennis Edward Eckart (born April 6, 1950 in Cleveland , Ohio ) is an American politician of the Democratic Party . From 1981 to 1993 he was a member of the House of Representatives of the United States for the 11th and 22nd  congressional district of the state of Ohio.

biography

Dennis Eckart was born in Cleveland. He attended St Joseph High School in Euclid . In 1971 he received his Bachelor of Arts from Xavier University of Cincinnati . He received his Bachelor of Laws from Cleveland State University in 1974 . Immediately afterwards he was admitted to the bar. He practiced from then on in Cleveland. From 1975 to 1980 he was a member of the Ohio House of Representatives .

In the 1980 congressional elections , Eckart was elected to the US House of Representatives as a representative of Ohio's 22nd Congressional District. From 1983 until his departure in 1993 he then represented the 11th Congressional District in Washington, DC He then worked for the American Bar Association . In the Board of Directors of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants , he also sat. Eckart was also the head of the US delegation to the OSCE in Vienna . Eckart worked in the private sector as well as as a lawyer in a large law firm in Cleveland.

Eckart is married and has one son. You live in Euclid.
