Ellsworth Raymond Bathrick (born January 6, 1863 in Pontiac , Michigan , † December 23, 1917 in Akron , Ohio ) was an American politician of the Democratic Party . March 4, 1911 to March 3, 1915 and March 4, 1917 until his death he was a member of the House of Representatives of the United States for the 14th and 19th  congressional districts of the State of Ohio.

biography

Bathrick was born in Pontiac to Summer and Louisa Bathrick. There he visits the local schools. In 1889 he married Mary L. Clark. In 1890 he moved with his wife to New York City , where Bathrick worked in the oil business. During this time he worked for a newspaper in Cleveland and wrote five children's books on the side, which were published after his death. In 1900 he moved again, this time to Akron. From then on he worked there as a real estate agent.

In the 1910 congressional election , Bathrick was elected to the House of Representatives for Ohio's 19th Congressional District. He succeeded in being re-elected once. In the 1914 elections he had to give up his seat due to constituency shifts ( Gerrymandering ). He returned to the real estate business. In 1916 he was again elected to the House of Representatives, this time in the 14th district. Less than a year after taking office again, Bathrick died in Akron. He was buried in Glendale Cemetery .
