Walter Eugene Powell (born April 25, 1931 in Hamilton , Ohio - † January 17, 2020 ) was an American politician of the Republican Party . From 1971 to 1975 he was a member of the House of Representatives of the United States for the 8th and 24th  congressional districts of the State of Ohio.

biography

Walter Eugene Powell was born in Hamilton. In 1956 he became City Secretary of Fairfield . In 1958 he was elected to Fairfield City Council. He was elected to the Ohio House of Representatives in 1960 and was re-elected in 1962 and 1964. From 1967 to 1971 he was a member of the State Senate .

Immediately after his tenure in the State Senate, Powell was sent to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC as a representative of the 24th District of Ohio . He sat there until 1975. From 1973 to 1975 he also represented the 8th District. After leaving Congress, he settled in Middletown , where he lived until his death in January 2020.
