David Clendenin

David Clendenin (* around 1779) was an American politician . Between 1814 and 1817 he represented the state of Ohio in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Neither the exact date of birth nor the place of birth of David Clendenin have been recorded. There is also no information about his school education. Around 1806 he moved from Harford County , Maryland , near Struthers , Ohio. He later worked in iron processing in Trumbull County . During the British-American War he served first as a lieutenant in an artillery unit of the state militia and later as paymaster in the US Army . Politically, he joined the Democratic Republican Party .

After the resignation of MP Reasin Beall , Clendenin was elected as his successor to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC , where he took up his new mandate on October 11, 1814 when the by-election was due for the sixth seat of Ohio . After being re-elected, he could remain in Congress until March 3, 1817 . After the end of his time in the US House of Representatives, his trail is lost. Neither his place of death nor the date of his death are known.
