Nathanael G. Pendleton

Nathanael Greene Pendleton (born August 25, 1793 in Savannah , Georgia , † June 16, 1861 in Cincinnati , Ohio ) was an American politician with the United States Whig Party . From 1841 to 1843 he was a member of the House of Representatives of the United States for the first  congressional district of the state of Ohio.

biography

After he was born, his parents moved with him to New York City . In 1813 he graduated from Columbia University . Where he studied law . After being admitted to the bar, he served in the British-American War . In 1818 he moved to Cincinnati. There he continued to work as a lawyer. He served in the Ohio Senate from 1825 to 1829 .

As a representative of the Whig Party, he was elected to the US House of Representatives for a term that lasted from 1841 to 1843. There he represented the interests of the 1st District of Ohio. He did not stand for re-election. He resumed legal practice in Cincinnati until his death.

Pendleton was buried in Spring Grove Cemetery . His son George later became a senator for Ohio.
