Robert Todd Lytle

Robert Todd Lytle (* 19th May 1804 in Williamsburg , Clermont County , Ohio ; † 22. December 1839 in New Orleans , Louisiana ) was an American politician of the Democratic Party . From 1833 to 1835 he was a member of the House of Representatives of the United States for the first  congressional district of the state of Ohio.

biography

Robert Todd Lytle was born in Williamsburg to William and Eliza Lytle. He was the nephew of John Rowan . He graduated from the University of Cincinnati and the University of Louisville . In 1824 he was admitted to the bar and opened a practice in Cincinnati .

In 1828 and 1829 he was a member of the Ohio House of Representatives . In 1833 he took office in the US House of Representatives. In March 1834 he resigned from his seat. But he was re-elected in the by-election in December 1834 and went again as a member of the House . He completed the remainder of the term through March 1835. He returned to Cincinnati and resumed his practice as a lawyer.

He died in New Orleans at the age of 35. He was buried in Spring Grove Cemetery , Cincinnati.
