Timothy C. Day

Timothy Crane Day (born January 8, 1819 in Cincinnati , Ohio , † April 15, 1869 there ) was an American politician of the opposition party . From 1855 to 1857 he was a member of the House of Representatives of the United States for the first  congressional district of the state of Ohio.

biography

Timothy Day was born in Cincinnati. He attended public schools in his hometown. He trained as a printer and engraver . He then became an editor at the Cincinnati Enquirer in 1849 . In 1852 he made a trip to Europe .

In 1855 he was elected to the US House of Representatives as a representative of the opposition party. There he represented the 1st District of Ohio until 1857. He could not be run for re-election for health reasons.

He died in his native town in 1869 and was buried there in Spring Grove Cemetery . He was married to Mary Jane Johnson Day.
