Leonard Paul Howland (born December 5, 1865 in Jefferson , Ohio , † December 23, 1942 in Cleveland , Ohio) was an American politician of the Republican Party . March 4, 1907 to March 3, 1913 he was a member of the House of Representatives of the United States for the 20th  congressional district of the state of Ohio.

biography

Leonard Paul Howland was born in Jefferson. There he attended public schools. At Oberlin College and Harvard University he graduated from law school in 1887 and 1890, respectively . In the same year he was admitted to the bar. He started working in Jefferson. In 1894 he moved to Cleveland, where he continued his business. In the Spanish-American War he served as a second lieutenant .

In 1906 Howland was elected to the Washington, DC House as representative of the 20th District of Ohio . He served there for a total of three legislative periods before retiring in 1913. From then on he worked as a lawyer again until his death in 1942.

Howland was buried in Lake View Cemetery in Cleveland. He was married to Jessie Frances Pruden.
