Greg J. Holbrock

Greg John Holbrock (born June 21, 1906 in Hamilton , Ohio , †  September 4, 1992 there ) was an American politician . Between 1941 and 1943 he represented the state of Ohio in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Greg Holbrock attended St. Xavier High School in Cincinnati and then studied at the University of Notre Dame in Indiana . This was followed by 1928 to study philosophy at Xavier University in Cincinnati. After a subsequent law degree at the University of Cincinnati and his admission to the bar in 1932, he began to work in this profession. At the same time he embarked on a political career as a member of the Democratic Party .

In the 1940 congressional elections , Holbrock was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the third constituency of Ohio , where he succeeded Republican Harry N. Routzohn on January 3, 1941 . Since he was not confirmed in 1942, he could only complete one term in Congress until January 3, 1943 . This was shaped by the events of the Second World War .

After serving in the US House of Representatives, Greg Holbrock served in the US Navy from 1943 to 1946 . In 1948 and 1960 he took part as a delegate at the respective Democratic National Conventions , at which Harry S. Truman and later John F. Kennedy were nominated as presidential candidates. From 1950 to 1966 he was district chairman of the Democrats in Butler County . He died on September 4, 1992 in his hometown of Hamilton, where he was also buried.
