Lyle Williams (*  23. August 1942 in Philippi , West Virginia ; †  7. November 2008 in Lordstown , Ohio ) was an American politician of the Republican Party . 3 January 1979 to 3 January 1985, he was a member of the House of Representatives of the United States for the 17th and 19th  congressional districts of the State of Ohio.

biography

Williams was born in Philippi, but soon moved to Ohio with his parents. In North Bloomfield he attended schools. Between 1960 and 1968, Williams was a member of the United States Army Reserve . After leaving the Army, he worked as a hairdresser . Williams began his political career between 1970 and 1972 on the Bloomfield School Board. From 1972 to 1976 he was at the Trumbull County as Commissioner operates.

In the 1978 House of Representatives elections , he was elected as a Republican Party candidate in the 19th constituency of Ohio. He represented this district until 1983, when he moved to the 17th district for his last legislative period, he was not re-elected in 1984 . After leaving Congress, he worked in the private sector.

Williams last lived in Warren . He was married to Nancy Peterson and had four children with her. Williams died on November 7, 2008 of a heart attack in Lordstown, where he was buried.
