William Edwin Minshall (* 24. October 1911 in East Cleveland , Ohio ; † 15. October 1990 in Delray Beach , Florida ) was an American politician of the Republican Party . From 1955 to 1974 he was a member of the House of Representatives of the United States for 23  congressional districts of the State of Ohio.

biography

William Edwin Minshall was born in East Cleveland. There he attended public schools. In Shaker Heights he attended the University School. He is studying law at the University of Virginia and Cleveland State University . He graduated in 1940, was admitted to the bar, and opened a law firm in Cleveland . He was a member of the Ohio House of Representatives in 1939 and 1940 . In December 1940 he joined the US Army . He served there until 1946 when he was discharged as Lieutenant Colonel . He was awarded the Bronze Star during his military service.

In the House of Representatives elections in 1954 , Minshall was elected to the US House of Representatives as representative of the 23rd District of Ohio. There he represented the 23rd district until 1974.

After retiring from Congress, Minshall retired to Delray Beach, Florida. He died there in 1990 at the age of 79.
