Warren Gard

Warren Gard (born July 2, 1873 in Hamilton , Ohio , †  November 1, 1929 there ) was an American politician . Between 1913 and 1921 he represented the state of Ohio in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Warren Gard attended public schools in his home country. After studying law at the Cincinnati Law School and being admitted to the bar in 1894, he began to work in this profession in Hamilton. Between 1898 and 1903 he was a prosecutor in Butler County ; from 1907 to 1912 he worked as an appellate judge. Politically, he was a member of the Democratic Party .

In the 1912 congressional elections , Gard was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the third constituency of Ohio , where he succeeded James M. Cox on March 4, 1913 . After three re-elections, he was able to complete four legislative terms in Congress by March 3, 1921 . During this time the First World War fell . In addition, the 16th , 17th , 18th and 19th amendments to the Constitution were ratified.

At times, Gard was a member of the Judicial Committee . In 1920 he renounced another candidacy. After his time in the US House of Representatives, he practiced as a lawyer again. In 1922 he competed unsuccessfully to return to Congress. Warren Gard died on November 1, 1929 in Hamilton, where he was also buried.
