William B. Shattuc

William Bunn Shattuc (* 11. June 1841 in Hector , Schuyler County , New York ; † 13. July 1911 in Cincinnati , Ohio ) was an American politician of the Republican Party . From 1897 to 1903 he was a member of the House of Representatives of the United States for the first  congressional district of the state of Ohio.

biography

William Bunn Shattuc was born in Hector, New York. In 1862 he moved with his parents near Sandusky . During the War of Secession , he served as a second lieutenant . In February 1863 he was discharged from the army with the rank of First Lieutenant . From 1865 to 1894 he was employed by the Mississippi Railway Company. He sat in the State Senate in 1895.

As a representative of the 1st District of Ohio, he sat in the US House of Representatives from 1897 to 1903. He did not stand for re-election in 1902.

Shattuc died in Cincinnati in 1911. He was buried in Spring Grove Cemetery .
