history

The county is named after General Philip Schuyler and was founded on April 17, 1854.

One place in the county has the status of a National Historic Landmark , the Lamoka archaeological site . A total of 16 buildings and sites in the county are listed on the National Register of Historic Places (as of February 21, 2018).
