Frank A. Cremeans (born April 5, 1943 in Cheshire , Gallia County , Ohio , †  January 2, 2003 in Gallipolis , Ohio) was an American politician . Between 1995 and 1997 he represented the state of Ohio in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Frank Cremeans attended Kyger Creek High School and then studied until 1965 at the University of Rio Grande , also in Ohio. In 1969 he graduated from Ohio University . He then ran a concrete company in Gallipolis, making him a millionaire. At times he also worked as a teacher and school administrator. Politically, he joined the Republican Party .

In the 1994 congressional election , Cremeans was elected to the United States House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the sixth constituency of Ohio , where he succeeded Democrat Ted Strickland on January 3, 1995 . Since he lost to Strickland in 1996, he could only serve one term in Congress until January 3, 1997 . In 1998, Cremeans unsuccessfully sought his party's nomination for the congressional elections. He died in Gallipolis on January 2, 2003.
