John Boccieri (2009)

John A. Boccieri (born October 5, 1969 in Youngstown , Ohio ) is an American politician . Between 2009 and 2011 he represented the state of Ohio in the US House of Representatives .

Career

In 1988 John Boccieri graduated from Ursuline High School in Youngstown. He then studied at St. Bonaventure University in New York until 1992 . Between 1994 and 1998 he served in the US Air Force. During this time he was able to study at Webster University in St. Louis until 1996 . From 1998 to 2000 he was a member of the Air Corps of the National Guard of his state. Since 2000 he has been a member of the Air Force Reserve. It was activated temporarily during the Iraq war and the war in Afghanistan . Politically, he joined the Democratic Party . Between 2001 and 2007 he was a member of the Ohio House of Representatives ; from 2007 to 2008 he was a member of the State Senate . During his military missions in Iraq and Afghanistan, he was released from his mandate in the state legislature.

In the 2008 congressional election , Boccieri was elected to the 16th  constituency of Ohio in the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC , where he succeeded Republican Ralph Regula on January 3, 2009 . Since he was not confirmed in 2010, he could only complete one legislative period in Congress until January 3, 2011 .
