Warren P. Noble

Warren Perry Noble (born June 14, 1820 in Berwick , Luzerne County , Pennsylvania , †  July 9, 1903 in Tiffin , Ohio ) was an American politician . Between 1861 and 1865 he represented the state of Ohio in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Warren Noble came to Ohio in his youth, where he attended public schools. He then worked as a teacher himself for some time. He then continued his education until 1840 at the Wadsworth Academy . After studying law and being admitted to the bar in 1843, he began to work in this profession in Tiffin. At the same time he embarked on a political career as a member of the Democratic Party . Between 1846 and 1850 he was a member of the Ohio House of Representatives ; from 1851 to 1854 he was a prosecutor in Seneca County .

In the congressional election of 1860 Noble was elected to the United States House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the ninth constituency of Ohio , where he succeeded Republican John Carey on March 4, 1861 . After re-election, he was able to complete two legislative terms in Congress until March 3, 1865 . These were shaped by the events of the civil war . In 1864 he was not confirmed in his mandate.

After his time in the US House of Representatives, Warren Noble practiced as a lawyer again. He was also the director of a local railroad company and a curator at Ohio State University . He died on July 9, 1903 in Tiffin, where he was buried. Noble was married twice and had a total of five children.
