Tiffin is a city in Seneca County in the US state of Ohio . In 2000 there were 18,135 inhabitants here. The city is the seat of the county government and was once a center of the glass and china industry.

The city is named after Edward Tiffin , the first governor of Ohio. St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Tiffin was the first church in the world to use Edison's lightbulb for lighting. It is also the first public building in the United States to house electrical wiring. Many generations of German-Americans have lived in Tiffin.
