Sue Wilkins Myrick (born August 1, 1941 in Tiffin , Ohio ) is an American politician . Between 1995 and 2013 she represented the state of North Carolina in the US House of Representatives .

Myrick attended Heidelberg College in Tiffin from 1959 to 1960 . From 1983 to 1985 she was a member of the city ​​council of Charlotte , North Carolina and was mayor of the city from 1987 to 1991. In 1992 she ran unsuccessfully for a seat in the US Senate . Two years later, Myrick was elected as a Republican in Congress and represented North Carolina from January 3, 1995 to January 3, 2013 in the US House of Representatives; In 2012, she decided not to run again.
