David McKee Hall (born May 16, 1918 in Sylva , Jackson County , North Carolina , †  January 29, 1960 there ) was an American politician . In 1959 and 1960 he represented the state of North Carolina in the US House of Representatives .

Career

David Hall attended public schools in his home country. After a subsequent law degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his admission to the bar in 1948, he began to work in Sylva in this profession. He also served as the legal representative for his hometown and several other locations in Jackson County. In 1952, he became a member of the Legal Committee for the Twelfth Judicial District of North Carolina. It was then that he founded the Jackson County Savings & Loan Association and became its secretary. In 1953 he founded Jackson County Industries Inc. and was then its president.

Politically, Hall was a member of the Democratic Party . In 1955 he entered the North Carolina Senate . Between 1955 and 1958 he was a member of his state's water commission. In the 1958 congressional election , Hall was elected to the United States House of Representatives in Washington, DC , in the twelfth constituency of North Carolina , where he succeeded George A. Shuford on January 3, 1959 . He could only exercise this mandate for one year until his death on January 29, 1960.
