Richard Hudson (born November 4, 1971 in Franklin , Virginia ) is an American politician . He has represented the state of North Carolina in the US House of Representatives since 2013 .

Career

Richard Hudson attended Myers Park High School in Charlotte until 1996 . He then studied at the University of North Carolina there . In the meantime he worked as a freelance businessman. At the same time he embarked on a political career as a member of the Republican Party . Between 2000 and 2011 he worked for various congressmen from North Carolina and Texas . In August 2012, he gave a speech at the Republican National Convention in Tampa .

In the November congressional elections , Hudson was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC , in the eighth constituency of North Carolina , where he succeeded Democrat Larry Kissell , whom he defeated in the election, on January 3, 2013 . After three re-elections in 2014, 2016 and 2018, he can still hold office today. His new legislative term runs until January 3, 2021 with the option of a further candidacy in 2020.
