Ralph Bradley "Brad" Miller (born May 19, 1953 in Fayetteville , North Carolina ) is an American politician . Between 2003 and 2013 he represented the state of North Carolina in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Brad Miller attended Terry Sanford Senior High School in Fayetteville. He then studied until 1975 at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill . This was followed by studies at the School of Economics in London until 1978 . After completing a law degree at Columbia University in New York City and being admitted to the bar in 1979, he began to work in his new profession.

At the same time he embarked on a political career as a member of the Democratic Party . Between 1992 and 1994 he was a member of the North Carolina House of Representatives ; from 1996 to 2002 he was a member of the State Senate . In the 2002 congressional elections , he was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC , in the then re-established 13th constituency of North Carolina , where he began work on January 3, 2003.
