Lycurgus Luther Marshall (* 9. July 1888 in Bucyrus , Ohio ; † 12. January 1958 in Aurora , Ohio) was an American politician of the Republican Party . From 1939 to 1941 he was a member of the House of Representatives of the United States for the 24th  congressional district of the state of Ohio.

biography

Lycurgus Luther Marshall was born in Bucyrus. He attended public schools in his hometown. In 1909 he graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University and in 1915 from Case Western Reserve University from his law degree . In the same year he was admitted to the bar. He then opened a law firm in Cleveland . He sat in the Ohio House of Representatives in 1921 and 1922, and then served on the State Senate from 1923 to 1935 .

As a Republican candidate, he was elected to the US House of Representatives in 1938 for the 24th District of Ohio. He took up his mandate in 1939. In the congressional elections in 1940 he was unable to defend his seat, he left the congress after only one legislative period. After retiring from Congress, he returned to Ohio to return to practice as a lawyer. He practiced in Cleveland until his death in 1958.

Marshall was married and had a son. He died in Aurora in 1958 and was buried in Lake View Cemetery in Cleveland.
