Richard Mott (born July 21, 1804 in Mamaroneck , New York , † January 22, 1888 in Toledo , Ohio ) was an American politician.

Mott moved to Toledo, Ohio, in 1836 and started working in the real estate business. From 1845 to 1846 he was mayor of the city. Mott was elected as a candidate for the opposition party in the 34th Congress . He was re-elected as a Republican to the 35th Congress . Thus he represented the state of Ohio from March 4, 1855 to March 3, 1859 in the House of Representatives of the United States . After he had not run for another term in 1858, Mott returned to Toledo at the end of his term and started working in the real estate business. Mott died in Toledo in 1888. He was buried in Mount Hope Cemetery in Rochester , New York.
